CARE INSTRUCTION
Washing DAMA Clip in Hair Extension.
Unlike your natural hair, your clip in hair extensions cannot recreate oils to naturally condition your hair, meaning every time you begin washing clip in hair extensions you reduce the natural oils of the human hair. Therefore they may start to become dry if washed too regularly.
We suggest washing your hair extensions if they are holding an odour for example smoke or after wearing them enough times to notice a change in appearance or feel, There is no set time-frame on how often you need to be washing your hair extensions. Please remember to use Sulphate free shampoo as Sulphate’s are too strong for hair extensions & will strip the moisture out of them.
– How to Wash DAMA Clip In Hair Extensions ?
- Firstly, mix half a cup of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of shampoo. The more moisturising the shampoo, the better.
- Secondly, fill your sink or a large bowl with warm water and mix the cup of diluted shampoo into the water. Keep top weft and clips out of water (this avoids swelling of the top weft and the clips going rusty). Make sure your extensions are tangle free and place them into the sink or bowl. Then swirl around your hair gently.
- Next, remove the extensions from the solution and rinse them under a running tap, holding the extensions at the top, near the clips. Cold water is best to lock in moisture.
- Squeezing out any excess water and avoiding tangling the hair, lay the extensions out flat on a towel. Apply a conditioning treatment to the extensions, such as an intensive repair treatment. Comb through from ends to weft using a wide tooth comb. Gently fold over the towel and leave for one hour to allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair.
- Rinse the conditioner out and apply a leave in conditioner. You can apply more than you would usually on your own hair. In a fresh towel, lie your extensions flat and fold the towel over them, as before. Leave the extensions to dry naturally. If you’re in a hurry, leaving them in an airing cupboard or by a radiator can speed up the process.
- Once your extensions have dried, you can comb through gently from clip to tip, before applying heat protection spray and straightening one weft at a time.
Dyeing or coloring your DAMA Hair extensions
You might find that you want to change the color of your DAMA Extension if you have recently dyed your hair or if we don’t offer a shade that you want. Most customers are able to dye their hair extensions without issues.
IMPORTANT TIPS FOR COLORING:
ALWAYS TEST ON A SMALL SECTION: To ensure you’re happy with the results
SEEK THE HELP OF A HAIRDRESSER: If you aren’t confident with toning or dying
USE CONDITIONING TREATMENT: To keep hair soft and silky after toning/dying
- DON NOT BLEACH OR LIGHTEN YOUR DAMA HAIR: extensions can be dyed up to two shades darker. The hair has already been through a chemical process, so bleaching or lightening the hair can affect the condition of the hair.
Storing DAMA hair extensions
- Close clips after removal of your hair.
- Brush hair through from top weft to ends, supporting the top weft.
